Hello, I’m Mikayla (Mak)!
Sports and fitness have always been a huge part of my life; whether it was horse riding, netball, cricket, triathlon, canoe polo, or swimming. But despite my active lifestyle, I struggled with self-image and weight loss, never understanding why it felt so much harder for me. That changed when I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), and suddenly, everything made sense.
When I moved to Canterbury for university, I took a leap and joined a gym. Working with a personal trainer was the best decision I ever made, it completely transformed my outlook on health and fitness. At the time, I was studying forensic psychology and sport/health psychology without a clear career direction.
But as I dove deeper into understanding behavior change, motivation, and how mindset influences performance, I found my true passion.
I decided to complete a diploma in personal training so I could help others navigate their own health journeys. My goal is to empower people to become the best version of themselves, whatever that looks like for them. Whether you're aiming to build strength, boost confidence, or simply feel better in your own skin, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
